Separate connectivity from verified identity
A number that receives calls and messages is not automatically a number tied to resident identity verification. If banking, government or delivery services matter, ask the carrier specifically whether the plan supports the verification process you need.
Your name must often match across passport, residence record, mobile account and other services. Small differences in spelling or name order can create frustrating failures later.
Compare the full plan
Look beyond headline data. Check contract length, cancellation conditions, activation fees, reduced-speed rules, roaming, tethering and how support works in English. Ask whether the quoted price includes every recurring fee.
- Is the phone unlocked and compatible?
- Do you need a Korean voice number?
- Do you need resident identity verification?
- How long will you stay?
- Can you use the required payment method?
Test the important functions
Before leaving the store, place a call, receive a message and load mobile data. Confirm the account name and learn how to view the bill. Keep the contract summary and customer-service details.
