LOCAL BROWSER TOOL
Compare formats using your own image.
Encode one unchanged image as JPG, PNG and WebP in this browser. Compare the byte counts and inspect the outputs before choosing a format for your listing.
JPG, PNG or static WebP · up to 20 MB and 6 megapixels
PNG encoding does not use this quality setting.
Transparent PNG/WebP previews use this background for comparison; their alpha channel is preserved.

How to make a fair comparison
- Use the same original file for all three encodings; this tool does not resize it.
- Compare the actual byte counts, then inspect fine texture, text and edges at normal size and at 100%.
- Try another image with different texture or transparency. One photo cannot predict every image.
- Confirm that the destination accepts the output type, then inspect its real listing preview.
Browser encoders can differ. If WebP is unsupported, the browser may return another format; the result table reports the actual MIME type and download extension instead of disguising it. For Etsy, see thesource-checked image reference before uploading. Read the privacy explanation andtest limitations for more detail.
